We have an urgent opportunity TOMORROW morning at 9 AM for 5 volunteers to join our staff at the Caves and help us clean out and reorganize our underground storage space.
This shift will consist of quite a bit of heavy lifting, and will primarily involve removing and disposing of older, heavy bags of donated pet food, and general cleaning and reorganizing. This is important behind-the-scenes work that will directly support our Pet Food Pantry and Outreach programs and help ensure we keep our storage space fresh for incoming donations.
Because of the short turnaround, we are especially grateful for anyone who is able and willing to step in and help. Your support truly makes a difference!
You'll be working alongside Gabe, our Director of Advancement, and PRCKC staff the entire time, and we deeply appreciate your willingness to lend your time and energy to help us keep this resource running smoothly!

What Volunteers Will Be Doing
This shift will mainly involve:
-
Lifting and carrying heavy bags of pet food
-
Disposing of older donated food
-
Reorganizing pallets and storage areas
-
Sweeping and helping clean and reset the space
-
Supporting staff with general cave clean-out efforts
This is more of a clean-out and reorganizing shift than a prep shift.
Physical Considerations
This is a more physically demanding opportunity, and volunteers should feel comfortable with:
-
Lifting heavier bags of pet food (up to ~40–50 lbs)
-
Being on your feet and moving for extended periods
-
Performing hands-on, active work
We encourage volunteers to listen to their bodies and work at a pace that feels safe and comfortable for them.
